Well, this is me....the author of CyberJournies & BryceWorlds. I am 46 years old and retired from the United States Air Force in February 1998 after 21 years of service. In the last 21 years, I have been stationed at Cannon AFB in Clovis New Mexico, Andersen AFB on the pacific island of Guam, Nellis AFB in Las Vegas Nevada, Ramstein AB in Germany and Hill AFB in Layton Utah. I became interested in computers while stationed in Germany through a friend of mine that was in the Army. He taught me alot about the world of MS DOS and the workings of the late, great 286 AT computer. After returning to the good old US of A, I started tinkering with and upgrading my 286, but alas, there was just so much I could do with an old dinosaur like that. I started reading lot's of computer books, and then built my first computer, piece by piece. It was a 386DX/40, and boy after that old 286, I thought it was the fastest machine in the world and that I would never need anything faster. Well, you all know how fast the computer world progresses, and soon that became to slow too. Somewhere in there, I upgraded from MS DOS to Windows 3.1, then built a 486DX/33, then along came Windows 95, then I built a 486DX/100. The last self-built project that I created for myself was a Cyrix P150+ with 32 megs of RAM, but I have since copped out for a store bought system and now use a Sony VAIO Pentium III 750 Mhz with 256 megs of RAM. Sure is along ways from that old, slow 286 AT with 640 kb of RAM that I had just a mere 10 years back. Things sure have come along way in a real short amount of time.
I first became interested in the Internet and writing HTML about 11 years ago when a friend of mine got out of the USAF and started his own Internet Service Provider business. I really liked creating things that people all over the world could look at. I have been semi addicted ever since. Since my retirement from the Air Force, I have moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina and have had the pleasure of being the Corporate Senior Manager of a major web hosting company, Advanced Internet Technologies, Inc. It sure is different from my days in the good old Air Force, but I found it to be a satisfying and rewarding career. Well, enough about me....enjoy your stay at my humble home in cyberspace and I hope to see you all again real soon. Thanks for dropping in!
Sincerely,
Kevin Hagus - Author, Webmaster and all around handyman of Kevin's CyberJournies
